Who You Are
We are looking for passionate locum speech and language therapists eager to make a difference for children and families in Tower Hamlets. Ideally, candidates should be willing to commit to at least a 6-month period, working a minimum of 2 days a week. You should be motivated to work in a diverse inner London borough, contributing to the development of SEND services within a community-focused team.
What the Job Involves
The role involves working with children under 5 and their families, delivering targeted interventions to improve language difficulties. Responsibilities may include:
- Running targeted-level groups with parents and children under 5 in family centers and online.
- Providing advice for education, health, and care needs assessments.
- Delivering direct language intervention services.
You will work under the supervision of a senior Speech and Language Therapist, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and Early Help professionals. The position offers flexibility, with a combination of face-to-face sessions in Tower Hamlets and remote work opportunities.
Skills
- Right to Work in the UK
- Valid HCPC registration
- Completion of NQP (Newly Qualified Practitioner) competencies
- Experience working with children with communication difficulties
