What the Job Involves
The role of an EHCP Coordinator involves coordinating all aspects of the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) process for children and young people with SEND. This includes producing high-quality EHCPs, managing caseloads, liaising with families and professionals, and attending relevant meetings. You will ensure that EHCPs are clear and well-structured, monitor their implementation, and support children transitioning between educational phases. Additionally, you will be responsible for upholding statutory processes and deadlines, managing conflicting priorities, and ensuring the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the Council's safeguarding policy.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation and practices
- Experience with educational provision and decision-making processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage caseloads and conflicting priorities
- Document drafting and summarization skills
- Proficient in ICT, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Able to travel throughout Worcestershire
