Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with significant operational and strategic experience in a front-line statutory child protection setting. You possess a thorough knowledge of legislation, statutory regulations, and government guidance relevant to children in need, child protection, and care planning. With up-to-date expertise in children in need, equality, and diversity issues, you are equipped to lead and support a team with guidance and clear direction. Your experience includes managing or supervising within children's social services and collaborating effectively with other services to deliver coordinated support.
What the Job Involves
This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of a team of social workers responsible for safeguarding and promoting the best interests of children. You will ensure services are delivered in line with government policy, legislation, council policies, and departmental procedures. Your responsibilities include providing leadership to frontline staff, managing budgets, reporting performance targets, and maintaining effective communication within the team. You will work closely with peers across the service and represent the service to external agencies to ensure care plans prioritize child safety.

- Significant post-qualifying experience in social care settings
- Thorough knowledge of child protection, legislation, and standards
- Proven leadership and team management abilities

- Recognised Social Work Qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW)
- Current Social Work England Registration
