Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a background in managing Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) work. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are capable of managing Section 47 investigations. You are adaptable, capable of working both independently and within a team, and are committed to keeping the child's needs at the forefront of your work.
What the Job Involves
The Duty Service of St Helens is comprised of four teams, each led by a team manager, an assistant team manager, and six social workers. You will be responsible for responding to referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and conducting necessary assessments and plans for children. Duty occurs every four weeks, during which you are expected to respond to referrals and complete assessments. The role is temporary, with a focus on ensuring children are supported effectively, planning short-term interventions, and facilitating transitions for long-term support when necessary. You will receive regular supervision and access to a practice support team, with an expectation of hybrid working; at least two days in the office each week, extending to five days when on duty.
