Who You Are

As a SEND Case Officer, you possess experience and expertise in Special Educational Needs (SEN), adhering to the Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014. You are knowledgeable about Camden's SEND policies and have the ability to co-produce comprehensive Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans with families. You are committed to maintaining oversight and supporting the educational journeys of children and young people with SEND, ensuring their needs are met. You negotiate effectively with educational institutions and manage sensitive situations to ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.

What the Job Involves

The SEND Case Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining Education Health and Care Plans, supporting children and young people with SEND, and working closely with families, schools, and other partners. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver a holistic educational, health, and care plan, and ensuring that the individual needs and aspirations of children are met. The officer will manage a caseload, mentor SENCOs, coordinate panels, and oversee the planning and review processes, all while driving quality improvements through data and feedback. Frequent travel to educational settings in Camden and neighboring areas is required.
