Who You Are

We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Street Works Permit Officer to coordinate and assess street and road works permits in line with the NRSWA and permit scheme requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in street works, highways, or permit schemes with a good knowledge of NRSWA, permit schemes, and associated legislation. You should possess strong organisational and communication skills, and be confident in using IT systems while managing competing priorities.

What the job involves

The Street Works Permit Officer will assess and manage permit applications and variations, ensuring compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and national permit conditions. You will liaise with utility companies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective coordination of street works. The role requires evaluating traffic management proposals, supervising permit compliance, and occasionally working outside normal hours to respond to urgent work demands.
