What the Job Involves
- Managing and resolving challenging and complex cases in line with statutory requirements.
- Assessing and handling higher levels of risk, working within multi-agency systems.
- Coaching and mentoring student social workers and colleagues.
- Investigating allegations of neglect or abuse and managing child protection proceedings.
- Preparing reports and legal documents for court proceedings.
- Developing and implementing care/protection plans and supervising children under council care.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and thorough case records.
- Fostering partnerships with families and professionals, overcoming resistance to social care involvement.
- Providing expertise in your specialist field, advocating best practices, and engaging in ongoing research.
