Who You Are
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our Adult Safeguarding Team within the Complex Safeguarding cluster. You should have experience and knowledge in Adult Safeguarding, with a desire to work in complex safeguarding cases that may involve organisational abuse, and support young adults who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
What the Job Involves
- Provide professional advice and guidance at the borough’s High Risk Panel for young people transitioning into adulthood.
- Offer expert support to partners in health, children's social care, CAMHS, adult social care, and voluntary sectors on risk mitigation and pathways into adult services.
- Undertake Care Act assessments (Section 9) and safeguarding enquiries (Section 42).
- Develop tailored safety plans that address needs such as mental health, sexual health, and domestic abuse.
- Work closely with partner agencies to ensure smooth transitions and access to community support, including housing, mental health, and employment services.
- Lead quality improvement activity, gather feedback from young people, and complete audits.
- Conduct community outreach to strengthen partnerships and improve pathways of support.
Skills
- Experience working with young people and supporting transitions to adulthood.
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
- Skilled in strength-based, person-centered practice.
- Confident in risk assessment and safeguarding in complex situations.
- Effective multi-agency collaboration across various services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of managing a varied caseload.
